Daniel Deng has been in practice for over 30 years and is a senior lecturer at the Sydney Institute of TCM. The Patented Pyramid Moxibustion Box can be quickly set up and organized to be used on common acupuncture points and areas of the body that require the heating and strengthening effects that the burning of mugwort can achieve.
For the busy acupuncturist these moxa boxes are a welcome addition to the clinic because they can be quickly applied to common tonifying acupuncture points like ming men (Du 4) without the time consuming need to hold the moxibustion stick. The practitioner can then needle the other required points and see to other patients.
The patented design allows the piece of moxa to burn itself out without any ash falling onto the skin. The stainless steel pyramid shaped housing lets extra heat be deflected back down into the acupuncture point and hence maximizing the therapeutic effect. In addition, these boxes can be recommended to be obtained by patients for home self-help treatments.
